searching and naming of tv shows

Hello,

after finding the tutorial on naming tv shows, I renamed my folder structure TV/Dexter - New Blood/Season 1/Dexter, New Blood - s01e01 - Cold Snap.mp4 and still can't seem to get it to show correctly in Emby. So I went to TVDB and looked up the ID for this particular episode and entered it in the box under the Identify prompt and it comes up that it can't find it. The same is true for doing the same via IMDB. Is the lack of information due to the way I have it named in Emby? The "TV" folder is on the same drive as my movies, does affect it also? I have the folder's properties set to "TV Shows" and have the TVDB listed as the first database.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Scott

Sorry, not following as episodes don't have Identify option, it should be done on series level, in your particular case either by name, TVDBID 412366 or IMDBID tt14164730.

HI, try doing the Identify feature on the series level and let us know if that helps.

I guess I'm missing something ..there isn't any "Identify" option at either the folder or the series (season) level. The only place that option comes up is at the episode.

why then if I go to the individual episodes on IDMB, the ID number changes?

Something is off there, as your folder structure seems ok as do your library settings.

Could you take below steps:

1. Remove "Dexter - New Blood" folder from parent TV shows folder

2. Scan library to purge db

3. Rename series folder to "Dexter New Blood (2021) [tvdbid=412366]"

4. Put it back into J:\TV

5. Run library scan

6. Post server log

No, as long you're not using same folder paths. What is your movie library folder path?

Movie path is just "J"

Therein lies your issue: your movie library is J:\ - can't have library with folder that is subset of another library.

Hence your Dexter items are being queried as movies:

2023-01-23 09:28:38.528 Info HttpClient: GET https://api4.thetvdb.com/v4/search?type=movie&q=Dexter, New Blood - s01e01 - Cold Snap

Transfer all your movies to J:\Movies and put that as Movie library path.

Leave TV shows library as J:\TV.

Rescan and everything will sort itself out.

one more quick question if you have the time .. how do I get the home page "TV Shows" to show multiple titles like the "Movies" one does?

Delete that image (three-dot menu or right-click on Library thumb>Edit images), scan library.

Check your settings for the home page (in the user/app settings); you can enable or disable each library from showing in the Latest Media:
