Ronstang 294 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) This is something new, just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 a few days ago, not sure if that caused this but all of a sudden I cannot add any files to any libraries. Server log is below. EDIT...The log says something about database disk image malformed....but I don't know what that means Thanks embyserver.txt Edited January 22, 2023 by Ronstang
Luke 42083 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Hi, please see this and it should help get you squared away: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002210894-corrupt-database
Ronstang 294 Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Those instructions don't work since when I shut down the emby server those two files disappear from the data directory and you cannot delete them when the server is running because they are in use.

If they disappear (as they should), skip that and proceed with db integrity check (and/or recovery).
Ronstang 294 Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Thanks, that is what I am in the process of doing right now....I just skipped to the next step
Ronstang 294 Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 DB Browser doesn't have a function to recover the database and I cannot find the command line tool on the SQ-Lite webpage. The integrity check didn't show any errors but there were a few lines it reported as missing in the index.
Ronstang 294 Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) Screw it, I just vacuumed it which didn't help so I renamed it and let emby build it all from scratch.....probably time as it has been running like this for 3 years with all kinds of temporary libraries added, some deleted.....lots of bloat. This is my testing server anyway, I have a new machine with a clean server that I will soon migrate all the "complete and tested" content too so people who watch won't have any issues, just enjoyable content. Ronstang 294 Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Wow! That was the right move.....the new database is only 2/3 the size of the one that got corrupted and about 8% smaller than the vacuumed version so it was definitely full of junk 1
