Server crashed, got a new PC, but infos are gone

I had a major PC crash due to power failure (gpu, mobo and power supply gone) but I saved the HDDs with the movies and put it on a new PC, got the server running, but when I add back the folders, it doesn't get back the info (stored in .nfo) and there are over a thousand ones that I edited manually... there is any way to make it retrieve the infos on the .nfo files without having to re-type everything?

Thanks in advance

Do your libraries have NFO Metadata Reader enabled in settings?

Would you mind sharing one of those NFOs that wasn't read/imported?

Sure thing, just one sec... this for instance is a independent movie that doesn't even have an imbd page, so I typed it all by hand from several sources (blogs, brazilian movie library, and such). Even the movie poster I've made myself from a screen cap.

could it be because the drive letter changed? It's 'L:' on the .nfo but on the new PC its 'O:'

Possibly - it's highly dependent on WHERE the NFO's are - did you opt to store them with the media ?

ie you have a media file (.MKV, MP4 etc) AND you have a .NFO file beside it in the same folder ?

Yes, all info - .nfo, .srt, the posters - on the same folder as the movie.

ok - the NFO does contain references to the L: - so to keep this as simple as possible - I would just change the drive letter to be the original L:

Do this in disk management > change drive letter.  If that letter is already in use, then you'll need to move that to something else first.

Then reboot, then re-scan emby.

Have no issues importing your NFO:

As far as artwork goes, that shouldn't have any impact as if you have artwork in media folder, that would take precedence.

Thanks, will try that.

That's odd... maybe it was a time issue - it was not reached that file yet? there's about 14Gb of files on 7 HDs...

I suppose that's 14TB? Yeah, that can take time. If you have all NFOs/artwork stored with your media - disable all internal scrapers or kill server internet connection altogether, that initial import will be much faster that way.

Thanks, will do that, and change the driver's letters to what used to be on the old server.
Thanks a lot.
