AndyXH 77 Posted March 2, 2023 Author Posted March 2, 2023 Hi yes I have and still dose not update with the latest info
ebr 16169 Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 If you are talking about TV series next up episodes, for the TV app, you would need to actually watch that series again for it to properly update. That feature works well if you use the same device most of the time. We haven't created background tasks at this point to try and keep it up to date all the time (i.e. when you are watching on different devices).
AndyXH 77 Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 Ahhh okay yes I did notice that but when using multiple devices it don’t work well! Do you plan on created a background task that updates this ?
Luke 42077 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Our standard android app does do this as a background task, but it's just not currently connected to server events and won't necessarily happen immediately following playback on another device. It's something we'll look at improving in future updates.

NorthDegree 10 Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 No issues , with “play next” updating for myself. However , it would be significantly more helpful if the “play next” on shield Home Screen would match the “continue watching” of the emby Home Screen. To be clear, it should include next up shows (that are not in progress) and actually show the progress bar for media that is in progress.

Hi, what version number of the Emby app are you running on the Shield?
NorthDegree 10 Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 Here you go Luke, emby version on shield is 2.1.23g and server version is 4.8.11
