At the time when you're unable to connect, does your emby server dashboard display the correct remote wan address? The first step is to find out if the server is aware of the remote address change.

Once it becomes aware, then it will update our Emby Connect server with the new value within a few hours.

Yes - any change in wan WAN address is displayed correctly in Emby - pretty much immediately as far as i can tell .... certainly by the time i have noticed an address change.....

When you switched to wired connection.

You lan ip off your server would have changed.

Did you change port forwarding in your router, to the new server lan ip ?

my lan address has never changed as far as i can tell.... 192.168.1.14

i have the server on a static lan ip....

i suspect you are right though - i am not at all confident that my configurations are correct but i have tried and retried everything i am supposed to check...

i did manahe easily enough with plex and jellyfinn but there were other issues there that made me switch. ..... emby generally works much better for me than the other two as long as i am on an at home network.

i could always use jellyfinn for remote connections but would rather get rid of all the unncecessary kruft from my computers and prefer to use a single app but emby seems to do rempte connection differently enough that i can't get it right ...... i do seem to be in the monority though and i am not usually such an eedjut with computer stuff\

would scrrenshots of my port forwarding stuff help at all?

Yes that might give some indication.

Also tage a screen shoot of your lan port settings of you server.

it shoud look something lige this, that way we can see if there something diffrent.

ok so if you just refresh the page in the browser, does it fix itself?

Be sure you do not have a cached URL address in your browser that goes to a non-active page.  This only really happens when you try to go to an address by typing in the URL and the browser remembers a bad page address and fills it in for you.  It's probably not the problem, but I thought I would mention it.
