Best way to remote login for this scenario

So my parents log in remotely to my server as well as all of my other family, but I’ll use my parents for this specific question. They are set up as separate users but is there a good way to set up Emby on their Shield to switch between the two of them (or select between all the accounts) that they don’t have to type in a password each time?

if I log in via connect it’s not that easy to switch users really. If I log in with my setup domain, it requires a password each time. Maybe I’m missing something easy but I’m just trying to figure out what others do here.

Hope this makes sense!

Hi, only one set of credentials is saved at a time so no, there's no quick way at this time.

Ahhh that's super disapointing. It'd be great if multiple credentials could be saved. Thanks for the reply on this.

I haven't tried this myself, but would the actual client os user profile (FireTV profiles etc) have separate login credentials for it's apps ?

If the client apps could save multiple logins at once, this would solve all of the needs. So in either scenario, if someone logs in via connect or their password, the app stores the password until they are logged in again. You could obviously disable this feature on the server side if you wanted to, but ideally this was just an app feature on the client side. At least my thoughts on that.

No I agree with you - I'm just suggesting that for FireTV (other clients may have this too) - you actually have 'FireTV Profiles' - and while I haven't tested this - I'm presuming you could save multiple emby users passwords as they have their own profile.   It's a workaround, as I can't see all the emby clients getting the necessary changes any time soon ... ;)

That's an interesting thought. I'd have to check, but of course the majority of these instances are Shield TV (no profiles) and Rokus (no profiles). It's funny to me that I didn't realize all of this before because it's a pretty important feature that multiple people should be able to easily log in to their profile regardless of location.

Hmm setup an vpn tunnel between you folks and you.

Have them connect though that, then they will be treated like lan users.

And let them login with out password on lan :)
