Is there any solution to play HECV in web without video transcoding?

So far as I know , Chrome/Edge already support HEVC, but 90% HEVC can't play in web dirctly.

Is there any solution to do that?

What do you mean by that? 95+% of my HEVC do play directly in Edge & Chromium, those that don't are usually due to audio/sub issues.

Use Emby Theatre, that will likely DirectPlay most of those.

If I allow video transcoding, the video can play in browser with transcoding to H.264

but it can't play in browser dirctly if I close the transcoding

I want to know is there any way to play HEVC in browser instead of downloading app when I turn the video transcoding off

Hi, in this example it has to burn the subtitles directly into the video. Try one of the following:

  • Turn off the subtitles prior to playback
  • Or use plain text subtitle formats instead. Our subtitle download features can help you acquire new subtitle files
