Ignore it .. I added the 192.168.1.29 to the Local IP address, and restarted. It still doesn't appear to be working. Here is the log. embyserver.txt

No gateway was manually set. This is a stock, factory reset router that I only changed the port forwarding to add 8097. If everything other than emby is getting out on the internet - then likely not an issue. I don't use synology - but I would also check that it has the correct LAN settings (with a gateway to match the actual router IP) and I also believe they have their own local 'firewall' ? @FrostByte - Sorry to ping, but I know you have a synology ..
wakeboarder141 40 Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 Synology firewall is off. Let me check in Synology settings for any network settings. I haven't adjusted any, but something is obviously wrong.
rbjtech 5284 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 This is the bit that concerns me from the log - Emby is saying 192.168.1.2 is the g/w - when it's not, that is your AVR .. ?

Yes, it appears to be set incorrectly in the NAS somehow. I will try to correct this. This is how it was set.
rbjtech 5284 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Right ok - now we are getting somewhere. Check the IP of your router - this is the gateway IP - it's probably 192.168.1.1 Put this as the g/w on your synology and the DNS server as well. Then things should start working - fingers crossed 1

Thanks so much for your help. No idea how that changed, but at least I know the problem now. Any advice on any special tricks for now switching everything from my old ISP to the new fiber? In theory I should just be able to restart Emby once the fiber is running, and the remote server IP address should update automatically right? Edited January 7, 2023 by wakeboarder141

Good news Yea - if you are using the same router - then everything 'LAN' side should stay exactly the same and emby will use the new WAN IP as you say. On the 'WAN' side - then you may need to setup a PPPoE connection (as it's fibre) on the router or it could be as simple as just plugging in the WAN Port (from the ONT) and it working. I would probably just remove the 10Gb Network from the synology on the initial setup - then put it back once everything is ok .. Edited January 7, 2023 by rbjtech

Turned off the router, swapped ethernet cables, powered back up and Emby asked for a restart. New server IP changed correctly on restart. All seems well. Thanks again for all of the help! 1 1
