micleeso 0 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 The Library Access Control function is not operating correctly. If I allow access to entire library, the default setting "Enable Access to All Libraries" the user will be able to access all content. If I select specific libraries the user has no access to any of the libraries. Thank you for helping.
GrimReaper 4740 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Considering a number of users (myself included) is using said function without issues, it is likely something particular to your instance. Can you show some exact examples?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I am not seeing any issue restricting a user to a specific library via Access. Are you setting any other options like parental controls?
micleeso 0 Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) As explained. I have user if I try to select access to specific library the user does not see any Libraries. Only access to all libraries work. I have been using this for years. I added a new library that I don't want the user access to, the user doesn't see any content. Edited January 5, 2023 by micleeso
micleeso 0 Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 No. I just uninstalled the entire service (clean) then reinstalled same issue.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Can you provide the server log for this. How to Report a Problem But testing is being done on an existing system. When I get a chance, I will spin up a clean portable to see if I see a difference.
micleeso 0 Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 Here you go. I added a photo of the outcome. embyserver-63808458480.txt embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63808458033.txt hardware_detection-63808458509.txt
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Dev will have to comment but cannot reproduce an issue on a clean install.
Luke 42078 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Hi, can you show an example of how you configured library access for a user? Thanks.

I narrowed the issue down to macOS client. If I edit the access control to the user using the macOS application the issue occurs. i.e. remove access to documentaries and music I then log into the user and all content is gone. Attached is a picture of removing said library content in macOS application. I then opened Safari and looked at the access control setting to that user. All library content was deselected, hence no access to entire library. I can successfully edit the library access control to the user using the browser portal. MacOS = "black background" Browser Portal = "White background"
Luke 42078 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 OK yes this will be resolved with the next update to Emby for macOS.
