cncb 25 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I have a tool that renames my tv recordings such that detailed info can be retrieved. For shows that air "daily" (like Letterman, for example), it renames them to "Series.Date.Description". They are in an appropriate subfolder for the series name. This is apparently an accepted format for some other media servers but Media Browser does not seem to recognize it. Is there any way to get Media Browser to recognize this naming convention or are season/episode numbers absolutely required? Thanks.

Just curious. I find most TV databases (i.e. TheTVDB) are not that great with accurate information for daily series.
cncb 25 Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 It is a specific tool written for NextPVR called ImageGrabLite. Letterman is the only daily show I record so I don't know about others but it looks like thetvdb has pretty good data for it.
cncb 25 Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 Has the handling of files with this naming changed? They no longer show up in the episode list (before they still weren't identified but were shown as "imported" in the list).
AgileHumor 123 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 This seems to be working for me for items using dates. I do have an issue where if there is a different naming convention used (some season/episode and some data based)...that will mess MB3 logic up. I used FileBot to name them consistently and all issues go away. Is their any mismatch of the convention for that series?
cncb 25 Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 There doesn't seem to be. The naming is the same as before but they no longer seem to be imported. For example, I have a "Late Show With David Letterman" folder with the following files that aren't imported: Late Show With David Letterman.2014-11-25.Actress Emily Blunt; author Adam Resnick; Wu-Tang Clan performs.ts Late Show With David Letterman.2014-11-26.Actor Jake Gyllenhaal; Dr.ts
