Barbablanca 7 Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Thanks to the group's help, I was finally able to get PotPlayer running within Emby Theater. My only wish is that I could access the playback features that govern image size. Some of my content is wide screen, and it would be convenient to set a user defined zoom level while within Emby Theater for that content. Putting a switch into the command line would just zoom playback for standard 16:9 movies/television shows etc. The old Emby client for WMC enabled this and it was handy.
Luke 42078 Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Hi, have you explored the display settings in the app related to image size?
Barbablanca 7 Posted December 30, 2022 Author Posted December 30, 2022 Accessing the image display settings within the app isn't the issue, it's accessing those settings while Emby Theater is running is what I wish to do. The old Media Browser client for Windows Media Center allowed this, while Emby Theater doesn't.
Luke 42078 Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Have you checked out the aspect ratio options in the video player?
Barbablanca 7 Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 Again, the aspect ratio can be changed, but what I want is to be able to zoom for 4:3 and 21:9 wide-screen content within Emby Theater as needed.
Solution Barbablanca 7 Posted January 1, 2023 Author Solution Posted January 1, 2023 Just had a moment of clarity! Instead of relying on a software based remedy to the problem, just use the aspect or picture size controls of the TV itself to zoom 4:3 and 2.35:1 content. This still doesn't explain why Emby Theater can't directly access features of an external player the way Media Browser for Windows Media Center could. I miss that interface, even it didn't offer some of the advantages of Emby Theater, like being able to use a tablet or Smart phone as a remote.

Barbablanca 7 Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 When you said the fill option, I know it can be used using the internal player on an Android device, but can it be enabled when casting to a TV? If so, where do I find that feature?
Luke 42078 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 What are you casting to, emby theater, or Chromecast? If you're casting to emby theater then yes but you'll have to do it directly in emby theater after playback has started.
Barbablanca 7 Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 I cast to both devices, but are you saying that there is a setting within Emby Theater that allows the screen to be filled?
Luke 42078 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 It's directly in the video player under the aspect ratio menu option.
