Best location for media data

I am in the process of setting up my home server, again.

What is the best location on the server for movies and music?

I don't like the /home directory because you need to give emby rights there. Alternatively would an external SSD disk for too?

Something like /mnt/Media or /mnt2/Media or /Media should work well and be out of the way of users and system locations.

As far as storage type an SSD would work but normally the goal for media is size over speed and HDDs are bigger, cheaper and more than fast enough.  Save the SSDs for the Emby data, metadata, cache and transcoding temp.
