OPUS direct-plays, but FLAC transcodes

I'm seeing on some of my media that OPUS will direct-play, but FLAC will transcode to AAC.

I've seen in other threads people note that FLAC can direct-play on LG TV's, so is there some reason why it's not working?

Try playing the file from USB to confirm. 
 

There is a channel limit for flac, after that flac doesn’t play on LG. I think 5.1 might be fine but after that it needs transcoding
