spriteyu 1 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) I hope to add a button to switch movie trailers. All movies and TV shows are downloaded by myself. I definitely don’t need to watch trailers. I hope to add a switch. When adding movies or TV shows, I don’t need to search for trailers. And there is no need to display the trailer button on the introduction interface. Edited December 27, 2022 by spriteyu

spriteyu 1 Posted December 27, 2022 Author Posted December 27, 2022 A button to open and close the trailer
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Still don't follow as there is a button to open trailer unless this is specific to a certain client? 15 minutes ago, spriteyu said: When adding movies or TV shows, I don’t need to search for trailers. But Emby does not search for trailers, it gets the URL from TMDB metadata. And there is no way to stop that. 1
seanbuff 1315 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Yes I am still a little confused. Do you just want to remove this button altogether?

Can't you just not click on it, if you don't want to see a trailer? The trailer is not saved locally, if it's that you're worried about. It's just streamed in remotely. Anyway, you can hide the button by adding this to your custom CSS settings: .btnPlayTrailer { display: none; } But it'll only work in the web client. All other clients will still show the button. 1
Vicpa 611 Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Hi Folks Is there a setting to remove Trailers from the library view? As you can see below I have no content in that view, Having a button that tells you that doesn't really add value. Thanks -vicpa 1

You might want to lend your support here: For the moment, if you'd like some content there, install Trailers plugin.
Eigeplackter 90 Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Not wanting to abuse that thread, but imy question is closely related i guess: Is it possible to hide single libraries from main page ? I just created a test library and I don't want to see it all the time, or do I have to remove the library to get rid ?

You can toggle certain library visibility in your user App settings>Home Screen settings. Alternatively, disabling access to same library (or channel) in Settings>edit User will achieve same result. Eigeplackter 90 Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 That's what I thought too, but there is no option for the library, only for collections ?

BasicUser 10 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Removing the Trailers button is a feature I'd hoped would eventually come along at some point since I first started using Emby. I love Emby and my primary use case is a UI and media library used only for children where I put all kid-friendly content for them to watch along with other of various ages that come visit. However in my media library are also a few edited down movies I've created that I know kids would enjoy such as Avatar and Shaolin Soccer which is a basic edit to only show the fun or visually amazing scenes which the kids love. So I'd like to be able to disable the Trailer button (and any ability to load/watch trailers) so that a kid can't press the Trailer button and get a VERY different version of the Avatar movie (or the same for other films I've created a small kid-friendly version of). This might only be a narrow use case, but you can see why having control over removing Trailers option will ensure the kids can enjoy these older themed content in a safe way without being horrified at the actual movie trailer Thanks. 1

Removing the trailer button benefits only a small group of people but affects many others who prefer to keep it. Instead of removing it, I suggest adding an option that allows the administrator to hide the button for specific users without completely eliminating it. Additionally, it would be ideal for users to have the ability to customize the default link for this button, enabling them to set a trailer of their choice.

I'm not at all proposing to have it removed, but just an option for the Admin to be able to control in the Settings screen whether the Trailers button is displayed or not. Default behaviour could be to show for all users (no change from current), but a new option added into the Settings screen to be able to control whether it is displayed or not.
