Wraidd 1 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) I'm trying to manually update my playlists to reflect the files' new locations as described in this KB: https://emby.media/support/articles/Playlist-Manual-Migration.html I did the following: Stopped emby Copied the playlists to a holding dir Moved the media files Cleared /lib/emby/cache Updated the paths in the playlist files Moved the playlist files back to the data dir Started emby Ran "Scan Library Files" from the Library config menu After doing this, only one of the playlists shows the files in their new locations; the other playlists are empty, though some (but not all) of them still show the playlist runtime. This seems unexpected as the playlists contain overlapping files (i.e. some of the files on the playlist that is working are also on some of the playlists but not being shown). The playlist files on the back end still contain the file paths; they aren't empty and the files do exist in the specified locations. Any ideas as to what I can do, other than delete and re-create the playlists? Edit: Server 4.7.6 on Linux Edited November 6, 2025 by GrimReaper KB article link updated
Luke 42085 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Hi, did you also update your libraries in emby library setup? The paths in the playlist file either to be relative or must exactly match the paths used in emby library setup.
Wraidd 1 Posted December 22, 2022 Author Posted December 22, 2022 I moved the files in question from one existing library to another, and they show up fine in the destination library
Luke 42085 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Have you tried refreshing the metadata on one of these playlists? Are you able to update to emby server 4.7?
Wraidd 1 Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 Yes, I've refreshed the metadata on the lists repeatedly, to no effect. I'm running 4.7.11
Luke 42085 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 @Wraidd are you still having an issue with this? Can you please show a specific example? Thanks.
