Trakt still not working after their main database crash?

Are you getting Trakt to work, or isi it still not syncing watchet episodes anv movies?

I get it to sync watched stuff up to 2022-12-15, but what I've watched after that doesn't get marked as watched on the Trakt site.

 

I'm not sure how to interpret the message on the trakt site, but it sans that the API is back online as of December 20.

So I guess it means it is supposed to work?

Try going into the plugin settings and getting a new authentication PIN from Trakt. That's what got it working again for me. (Remember to save the settings after entering the new PIN.)

Yes, I did that. And that made it sync a couple of days furter, but it seems it won't get past December 15.

Now that I watch a TV-episode it does actually sync the watch status to the Trakt site, but still everything between December 15 and today is missing.

Maybe that's what we should expected after the crach?

Another thing I notice is that the Trakt links on the episode pages are not working for the episodes not syncing to the Trakt site. Perhaps that has something to do with the issue?

Mine didn't sync anything that I watched during the downtime, even after renewing the PIN. I had to copy those watches across manually from the Activity history.

Just gave it a try myself and it's not working.

Removed plugin - reboot - install plugin - reboot - got new PIN - sync fails - marked additional movie as watched - got new PIN - sync fails

Ok, but shouldn't we be able to make Emby manually sync watched status by going to Scheduled tasks and "Sync library to trakt.tv"

I've tried that after changing the pin and restarting the server and it's not working. It appears that the sync from Emby to Trakt.tv is broken. I'm not seeing anything from Emby getting synced to Trakt. Not even new watched progress since the fix.

Hmm, ok. For me new watched stuff actually seems to automatically sync to Trakt site.

Funny thing is, even as job is still shown as failed, the actual watchstate on trakt.tv website is correct,;

Yes, it has always said (Failed) for me since way back, but it nevertheless it has actually synced watched stuff, I guess it fails because som movies and episodes are not found on Trakt.

Interesting, ok. Too bad we can't rely on the scheduled task status. 

Sadly I'm not getting anything updated from after December 11th.

Did you login on trakt website ?

There comes up the question how to proceed with the possible playstates in the downtime,

you can import or discard em. Maybe you have to do that before new states are added.

Yep, did that and it added everything up to Dec 11. Since Dec 11 is when it crashed, Trakt wouldn't have anything after. All that is in Emby, but since the sync isn't working I can't get those plays into Trakt. Unless I just copy manually of course, but since new plays aren't working either it seems something is still not working correctly.

What version is your Emby server, 4.7.11.0 is the latest stable.

Well, I revoked access on Trakt, but also noticed I was configuring the wrong user account! Dopey me. Ugh! So, that was my problem at least and I got it working now.

And by the way, I looked at the github release notes for Emby thet the trakt plugin probably will be reworked so that users themselves rather than the server admin will configure the Trakt authentication, which I think is a great idea.

I takes a while for Trakt to refresh the watched episodes/movies that were watched while the site was down, I did the Pin renewal and the task worked for me, i kept an eye on some episodes that i watched while the site was down and it refreshed within 10 minutes or less.
