IPTV Guide Tips

I'm playing around with IPTV and finding the forums a bit lacking on tips and tutorials how to configure this in Emby.

Question:

When I link the IPTV channels to EMBY it marks all the channels as active. Is there a quick way to disable multiple channels or have the channels 'turned off' by default?  Its much easier to turn on the channels I want vs turning off all the channels I do not want.

Hi, not yet, but it will be coming. We need to support multi-select operations on this screen.

Here are my guide tips for anyone experimenting with IPTV:

1. Use IPTVBoss  to filter and organize the providers channels into a M3U file Emby can import the channels. Start off with around 10 common channels to get started, its easy to add more as you expand your guide.

2.  Use the Emby built-in guide data to map the channels to your area.  I had to create multiple guides (Xfinity, ATT, DirecTV,etc) because not all the providers carry all the channel the IPTV provides. For example, map your "PBS" IPTV channel to your Emby Xfinity guide's "1234 PBS". You can use the IPTV providers EPG link but I found it causes problems with Emby and it does not provide the full functionality that Emby provides within their guides.
