I think I might have a different or two issues now. The last Blurays I've ripped I've in 4k HDR10 HEVC. Before this latest Chromecast update they would error with "too many error, giving up" or something similar. Not I just get a black screen, and after some seconds I get back to the page I was on (the movie page). On android mobile phones, tablets and NVIdia Shield these movies plays without problems (also on Android 13 and 14 beta).

This problem started for me when my Chromecast TV 4k was updated to Android 12 and/or a new Emby client version. There were no problems before this. @FredrikT @Luke As i said it may be an hardware problem, or a specific software android 12 issue on google tv chromecast, as you said i really doubt it is an emby issue, my crappy lowend chinese phone has the last android emby apk and android 12 and can display the 1080p bluray rip a 35 mb/s like a charm . google tv chromecast codename sabrina can't play 35mb/s full 1080p hd H264 only files without micro hangs every 2 sec. google tv chromecast google sabrina can display h265 files at very high bitrates even with android 12 firmware latest updates. for testing your theory, we should find a person on the net who have a google tv chromecast with android 11 firmware. to sum up things. at this momment April the 14th 2023 h264 full hd vids with bitrate more than 24mb/s do not work well h265 4k vids with bitrate more than 100 mb/s works well Edited April 14, 2023 by turpentine 1
turpentine 17 Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 @Lukei have very good News for you. I got the STTE.221215.004.A1 android patch WHO arrived 5 minutes ago in my country Now even 1080 h264 vids ať full bitrates around 35 mb/s are working well again. @wordlover VID20230414230841.mp4 So i correct the Real Truth It Is not a emby issue It Is not an hardware issue ; it Is not a global Android 12 issue; IT Is a Google firmware issue specially related to android 12 performance in Google Chromecast 4k. to sum up things: h264 And h265 ok ať high bitrates Now. Google engineers just sucked Which Is very funny. They have invented Android lol 1 1

I updated the firmware, rebooted CC twice, and still the same problem as before.
timeu 1 Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 The STTE.221215.004.A1 update also solved my stutter issues 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 For video stuttering, please try Emby for Android 3.5.25 and let us know how that compares: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.
turpentine 17 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 @luke, it was on android TV. 3.5.25 is for android or android tv ?
