markand 9 Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 I have a single playlist defined with Emby. It is music only. If I go to the Playlists section of My Media using either the Web UI or on my iPhone, I can select the playlist and when I do, I get a play button. However, using the AndroidTV app 2.0.83g, if I select the playlist, it only has "Toggle Favorite", and "Delete" buttons. If I'm playing something (i.e. an Album) there's a Go To Now Playing Button. There is no Play button. How do I play a playlist? Btw, if I go to my Music Library, in addition to Artists, Albums, as in the Web UI, there is also a Playlist tab. This is not present in the other apps. However, My playlist does not appear.
Luke 42078 Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 Hi, that's very strange. How does the web app compare?
markand 9 Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 Both the web app & the iOS app have controls to play when selecting the Playlist while the . Here are 3 screenshots, along with the Settings screen from the TV app for version/server info. Web App TV - Note: I was not playing music at this time, so the Go to Now Playing button is missing. iOS app
Luke 42078 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 That's odd. Is this happening with all playlists or just that one?
markand 9 Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 It's the only one I have. I could try creating another one tomorrow.

markand 9 Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 That works! The new one shows as playable, though the old one is still missing playback. Below show 2 photos taken back to back to compare. Any way to diagnose what's wrong with the first playlist? Btw, it would be good to be able to create a playlist from the playlist screen. I had to find the first piece of music to add and then could create the new playlist. Also, there doesn't seem to be any docs on how to create a playlist. It took awhile. Finally, it would be nice to be able to pick images for the playlist from the contained music. The default was from the first album added which happened to be from the other playlist. I had to find a URL or image that worked. Could be easier. Here are the images. Let me know if there's a way to figure out what's wrong with the other playlist OR if there's a way to create a new playlist from the existing one - even if that means editing the data files.
ebr 16179 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Hi. The first playlist is empty. That's why there is no play button. Notice how the second one shows the tracks?
markand 9 Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 Good catch! I wonder what happened to all of the tracks? I can see from the artwork that it was 2 albums. This was created a few years ago. Note that in the web app and iOS app there are playback controls even for the empty list. Thank you though for noticing. That explains a lot!
Luke 42078 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Assuming the tracks are still in the same place, try refreshing the metadata on the playlist and see if that helps.
markand 9 Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 (edited) A simple refresh did it! Thank you!!! Edited December 16, 2022 by markand 1
