"Now Playing" when watching one movie with two versions (3D & non-3D)

Some movies in my collection are in multiple formats.

For example "47 Ronin" and "47 Ronin 3D".
However, watching one causes Emby to think I am watching both versions simultaneously.
You can see this in the screenshots included here.

All my 3D movie versions are kept in a separate location from the non-3D content and were also set up as separate libraries in Emby. In addition, I renamed the 3D version shown in the screenshot by editing it's metadata also in Emby.

And yet with Emby thinking I am watching both, when I am only watching one of them, is a problem for me.
Any suggestions to remedy this nuisance?

Items are tracked by providerid, if you had more versions they would all show in CW row.

You need to use multi-versioning feature, in either of three ways:

1) Put all different files in same folder and follow naming convention for multi-version movies

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming

2) Multi-select and select "Group Versions" in three-dot menu

3) Use community-made Auto-Grouping plugin which works across libraries

Okay - tried following your suggestion with one movie (Annihilation (2018)) - however it is not working any differently.
As you can see from the two screenshots below, even after renaming a folder to match the title (and year), and using the exact naming method suggested for each version, the system still thinks I am watching both versions when I am only watching one of them.

Run a library scan after you have renamed the files? Possibly also run a metadata scan as well.

The naming looks okay.

@Mendocinotim Only a guess maybe the extra nfo file in the folder, other than that naming looks correct.

Sorry - I clicked the solution button, instead of the reply button.
Problem not solved yet.

I did delete the extra nfo file, and am scanning the media library now.
Once that is done I will also scan the metadata folder again Chef suggested.

Will post here when everything is done with the result.
