Manually Edit Playlist xml

Hi, has anyone found a way to manually create playlists by editing the text file? every time i make any changes they don't get reflected in MB3 and if i refresh the playlist it overwrites the text file i amended.

 

the reason why i want to do this is because i think i can export playlists from other players and recreate them through the text file far quicker then reselecting the few thousand tracks.
