MYT 0 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Hey Guys was hoping you could help me out with a problem im having. My setup: MB Server Version 3.0.5395.0 on server machine MB Classic Version 3.0.221.0 on htpc machine Movies are stored as MKV files on server machine. The movies are typically played on htpc machine. They play/pause fine. The problem is they wont fast forward/rewind or even let me select a scene. Is everybody having these issues or is it a local setup problem ? P.S I've tried updating the server and htpc software and rebooting but didnt help any.
ebr 16169 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 We'll need more information like exactly what you are doing and a log. But, WMC cannot FF or Rew mkv files. If you punch in a number and hit FF or Rew it will skip ahead that many seconds though.
MYT 0 Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 It was indeed a networking issue thanks ebrs
n3tguru 1 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I have WMC with XBOX 360 as extender and cannot FF or REW no matter what.. I can go to scene selections and I can move the scrubber forward but if I hit play nothing happens and if I hit OK/Enter the current play postion moves forward but then won't play. What am I missing here? This seems to only happen on MKV files. I have look through the other posts here and don't see an answer to this problem. Please help.
ebr 16169 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 The 360 doesn't support all media types and MKV will kinda work for some people but not all features will.
n3tguru 1 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Can't even do it directly out of my WMC skipping Xbox all together. No FF or RW with screen controls and mouse.
ebr 16169 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 WMC cannot natively ff or rew mkvs. If you use your remote buttons (or media buttons on a keyboard) you can skip ahead and back in defined increments.
