Setting DVD order doesn't change anything for Earth 2 series.

In Emby 4.7.10.0 on QNAP, I added the Earth 2 TV series. https://thetvdb.com/series/earth-2

Emby detected it in Aired order by default, I changed the series to DVD order and tried refreshing the browser after a minute, then refreshing the metadata, but nothing changes. The show is still displaying episode titles in Aired order.

Is there something special you have to do to reset a series to DVD order?

Hi, what metadata providers are enabled on the library and in what order? Are your files named based on dvd order?

Files are named in the DVD order listed on thetvdb.com.

The library Metadata providers are listed as:

TheMovieDb

TheTVDB

 

I had a problem with Modern Marvels, being named in the order of TheMovieDB was displaying as TheTVDB ordering,. Pushing TheMovieDb to the top fixed it.

Also, Firefly seems to be displayed properly in DVD order.

So what happens is the metadata is getting fetched based on the first provider, so you'll need to either put tvdb first or move these out into a separate library.

If Display order is adjusted shouldn't Emby only use TVDB as it is the only provider with order options?

But per show providers options could fix some of these issues.

Plex seems to be like this. An individual series has the options to be set as:

• Library Default
• The Movie Database (Aired)
• TheTVDB (Aired)
• TheTVDB (DVD)
• TheTVDB (Absolute)

Yea I would say that providers that don't support it should probably not try to fetch any metadata.
