Best way to Organise Music Videos

Recommended Posts

Guess "Music Videos" are one the the most discussed topic here, and i have mostly gone through all of them, However I'm still not able to get desired results.

can someone please guide me to the optimum approach ?

So my music videos ( mostly concerts ripped from dvd's) are organised as:

  • Music Videos
        - [Artist Name]
                - [Album Name A (YYYY)]
                         - Album Name_A(YYYY).ext (single file)
                - Album Name B (YYYY)]
                         - Album Name_B(YYYY).ext(single file)

And this setup works as expected, it easily pulls basic details form tmdb, and later i edit metadata as per requirement. Or I can do complete custom meta edit myself. No complaints here.

Now comes the tricky situation. There are few albums which are ripped as separate tracks, and is organised as

  • Music Videos
            - [ Artist Name]
                    - [Album Name XYZ (YYYY)]
                            - Track 01 - title.ext
                            - Track 02 - title.ext
                            - Track 03 - title.ext

and the number of track can go as high as 30+, based on the number of DVD it came.

Can someone please suggest how shall i go about it, as in this second situation every track is showing up as different entity.
Is it possible to combine them as a single album - something like how Tv shows episodes (music tracks) are combined as season (album)

Currently i have defined this root folder as "music Videos"  and following various guidelines such as this - https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159113-music-naming

Thanks in advance.,

Hi, what do you mean by this? We don't group music videos together in this manner so this sounds like expected behavior.

Thanks for clarifying.
I have figured this out and trying to combine the splited concerts into one video file where ever possible.

So basically music video section is actually "movies" with two additional tag- Album & Artist. And there is not way to group tracks as one album.

I tried using mixed content, but i'm unable to force the system to consider video tracks stored in a folder with names like, 01 - abc , 02 - def, 03 - ghi, 04 - jkl to be considered part of a series/season etc.
