Audio Transcode Questions

I have a bunch of movies with TrueHD Atmos, when I play them they are transcoded to "AC3 386kb" or something like that.  Is that multichannel?  DD+?  What?

Most of the TrueHD is 7.1, but some is 5.1.  I'd like to transcode to DD+ 5.1 (or 7.1 if possible).

1) Is it possible to set the transcode settings for audio?  I didn't see much in the server settings.
2) Is it possible to pre-transcode the audio to add it as another audio option?  I'd want the best DD+ option possible.  I don't want to create a whole other version of the file by transcoding audio and video.

I wouldn't mind extracting, re-encoding and remuxing outside of Emby if I need to, I just don't know how to go about it.

Hi, ac3 could be any number of channels, but typically it is 5.1 or 7.1.

Hi, yes that would be our media conversion feature.

Hmm - didn't know that was a thing... I'll have a look for that myself.

if not @Dizzy49 - I use an ffmpeg script that inserts an aac track and makes it the default track.  It can easily be modified to add eac3 - example below.

ffmpeg.exe -y -report -i "input.mkv" -map 0:v -map 0:a:0 -map 0:a -c:v copy -c:a copy -c:a:0 eac3 -disposition:a:0 default -disposition:a:1 0 -metadata:s:a:0 title="Dolby Digital+" -f matroska "output.mkv"

@LukeI don't see anything other than the normal Convert function which replaces the Audio ?  the OP wants to add it as a new track.

Correct, there's no way to create new audio tracks.
