draddy 3 Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Hi, also got problems with nfo ... Emby 4.7.10.0 Docker my last added musik don't get an nfo file, checked permission, and its the same like old folders. BUT: if i delete or rename an existing album.nfo to album.nfo.bak - it also don't recreate it. next test: i changed something in the nfo like <genre>Rock</genre> to <genre>Punk Rock</genre> and the <title> of that cd ... no change in emby --> emby still say Rock and the "old" titel in Lib Config i disable and reenable both NFO options (read from and save to) but nothing changed. any more to test? looks like it stoped working month back - last changed / created nfo is from 2021 06 09 (may that helps) thx draddy

Luke 42078 Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Quote in Lib Config i disable and reenable both NFO options (read from and save to) but nothing changed. Did you make note of this at the top of library options?
draddy 3 Posted December 7, 2022 Author Posted December 7, 2022 hi Luke, yes, after the test delete of the nfo i start a metadata scan (in both ways, just for that album, and also in the lib config) the nfo worked in past without problems, i never changed the settings until i recognized the missing in some new album yesterday. i will now try to remove one of the new folders, rescan lib, and readd the folder ...
draddy 3 Posted December 7, 2022 Author Posted December 7, 2022 no change ... dosen't matter what i do, i get no .nfo files and changes in existing nfo files take no effect. ...

draddy 3 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 no nfo metadata for Movies seems to work. but none of my Music Libs will work if i edit the metadata of a song, and delete some infos, the infos are back after a rescan metadata - but no nfo file ...
Luke 42078 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Have you followed the requirements listed here in the music folder structure option: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159113
draddy 3 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 havent changed that - it worked in the past. will that sorting be ok for the PERFECT setting?
Luke 42078 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Looks like, but your entire library needs to match that or you may run into problems. In other words, don't lie about it just to try and get nfo files
draddy 3 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 for the album lib should the sorting always the same, spend much time in that in the past ... xD and, yes, i'm not sure if i get risky only for the nfo files ... did you change something around june 2021? after june i don't get an nfo (you see, its very important for me ...) no, don't get me wrong, if you say we changed it and without option Perfect Setting i don't will get nfo in future, so i don't get nfo in future .. i just try to understand and fix if possible. thx

It was never required before because Emby required perfect folder structure in previous releases. Now we support any folder structure for music, and doing that makes it hard to detect what is an album folder and what is an artist folder, so you need to tell us how your files are organized.
draddy 3 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 mhm ok what about sampler ? in General, for human, its logical, in Bonzai are some Sampler from Bonzai Musics, every Sampler is one folder and in that are the files ... and what could be happn in worst case if the sorting isn't correct in some cases? (so i have folder like "artist name\radio\songs.mp3" that a struckture work of mine if i only have some songs of an artist, but preffer them to have in the main lib. ..
Luke 42078 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 You might get images or nfo files in places you don't expect. If you have existing images or nfo files they could end up being read into the wrong thing and causing problems.
draddy 3 Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 ok, will sleep over it, maybe this days i dobble check the strucktures or generate a test lib ... thx - will report if i get news 1
