Access to Emby outside home

Hello Everyone,

I want to access to Emby and to my library outside home with my iPhone.

The app is correctly installed.  In my home, I see the Emby server on my iPhone and also on my Mac but when I leave home, I have no access to Emby server and to my library too.

Have you an idea to help me ?

You have to set up remote access; your network at home is a local network.

This means using your external address, configuring your router to accept connections from outside destined for Emby.

If you want a secure connection, it also means getting a domain name and a certificate for it - which you can then install directly into Emby.

Some approaches to security involve either a reverse-proxy program (e.g. Caddy, which can automate the certificate handling completely) or a VPN.  You could search the forum for discussions and instructions on those, once you've got the basics working.
