The Premiere page on the server tells you if you are that close to the limit.  So there actually was an indication of that situation but you probably hadn't looked there.

Those users would have to consistently use all of those devices all of the time for it to be a long-term issue for you.

Is there an App Unlock hidden somewhere for:

Emby for Android 3.3.82

I can administer my server with this version - but can't play from it (device limts). 

I have paid for Emby for FireTV which does work, but the UI for that is extremely out of date and I cannot administer my server from it.

I appreciate App Unlocks are from yhe provider of the App (Amazon, Apple, Google) but this particular app doesn't have the option, or so it seems?? And I want to pay for it!

@ebr Although I’m not worried about exceeding my Premier limit. And don’t have a problem with you'r policies.  (really just tiered of the ###’s of questions about it)

The problem I see is that it is rather unclear… what exactly uses a premier device slot (and lots of others ask the same over and over again)

For example @Happy2Play (an awesome Top Contributor) answered me and was a little later contradicted by you…

Good day all,

 

I installed Emby on 2 firesticks at my home in San Antonio, Came to Houston to a rental I have here and installed it on the firestick here and I'm getting the "Device limit exceeded" error. 

I purchased the yearly subscription of $52 thinking it would clear that error up but  I am still getting the error shown below.

 

Can someone please help?

I paid for the service and premier. Not sharing anyone...So i connected/logged in to my server then i switched over to nepture server. tried watching something then get that error..

In that case you need to direct your query to that server owner/admin, there's nothing you can do from your - client - side nor there's any support community here can provide with that issue.

Subscribing to Premiere makes no difference in your scenario as it is a server feature, license would apply to your own server if you had it installed, it has zero/no effect on someone else's server.

Contact the server owner, give them your premiere information that you paid for, give them the option to use it, if not you should apply for a full refund, since you paid for something you're never going to use. If not I'm sure your credit card company can take care of that.  But only do it through credit card as a last case scenario, as you have that right with refunds by law.

And that's where the customer by law has the right to remove themselves from any contract within 3 days, by law, unless the customer was in your office at your location then that does not exist. The customer has every right to contact thier credit card company for a full refund. Regardless of your fees. Just my two cents on the law

People who come here from that website that sells Embyshares needs to get banned. Anytime someone says they are using "Jupiter" or "Neptune" server should equal an immediate ban. Time for playing games is over. Their customers not ours. Get rid of them. People who defend this behavior should also get warnings and banned. Respect the service or do not use it.

This varies widely by jurisdiction (states in the US).  We are happy to work with customers who make mistakes and do everything we can to try and prevent those mistakes.

I read many thread now and looks Im not only one with this issue, actually what really piss me off now is 

i have several devices,  in my house cca 10 most is use min once a week + my brother use it in home + mum + sister etc, thats come more then 25 devices. ya unfortunately im on 5 % what I not believe that 25 devices in 2025 is still valid. now is possibly 30 what i seen. 

so i bought lifetime licence with hope will works but nop 3 weeks and was out of limit $120 (£100) lifetime is gone and now useless not cover my needs. 

ok I was decide upgrade for monthly pay yes is sucks but what was my surprise 25 (30) devices from lifetime I already paid, didnt on extension if I pay 50 devices still 50 not lifetime i pay + extension 50 but only 50. so right now  paid $120 (£100)  + if need $14 (£12) for 50 devices  that is same if you not have lifetime 

just basically lost $120 (£100)  what i cant use if nee more. 

dont take me wrong but this is wrong. its just collect money. extension is extend for more device not charge more for same.

Is your family sharing their accounts with other people? You need to explain to your family to guard that as you will run out of devices when they share those logins with their friends. Explain to them how they will eventually screw things up if they continue to do this. Not saying this is what is happening but very likely it is. Make sure you are not having your users blow up your device limit by having a deep conversation with them about what happens when they do. Then you may notice the problem you are having stops happening.

thats funy. no they not share to others all our family has all together around 50 devices maybe  more just my daughters has 6.

30 devices was good maybe 5-10 years but today when 1 family has 3 tvs, each has mobile = tablets and they are 4 of family just count. 

in my case is + brother family and sister and my mum all we share one server home server nothing else. 

but that not only problem i got, what about lifetime price and extends? lifetime has 30 devices but when i extend still have 20 extra not 50 extra. so its just rip off client who has lifetime. its more punish them because they are that stupid to bou lifetime and then extend for same money but only 20 devices extra instead of 50 extra. 

 

dont take me wrong I like Emby come from plex after 10 years use and its much better but this is completely wrong and take emby down.

i have lifetime and cant have extend 50 devices but only 20 for same price. and talk of monthly payment. 

so not they not share it with others we are just normal family from Europe

Hi.  The vast majority of our users didn't go beyond the 25 limit but we felt 30 was a better number for today.

No, you cannot add them together.  Multiples would be for more than one server - like if you wanted to put a server at  your parent's house.

It may depend on platform but yes you can run multiple server but just have to be on different ports.  As I have a Windows test system that has an install per installer and 4 test portable servers for different version tests/regression.  

So you can install as many as you like but really depends on if your hardware can handle the load.

ya sure it is + my brother family + my Mum and not count sister and her family.

we got one central server for all of us so all have or should be have access that take cca 50 maybe 60  devices not count work ca use phone instead of tv.

so its not only 11 but around 50 devices for one family.

ps: did firestick - emby for fire tv count on premier or not? not sure where to pass in matrix on it.
