pachi81 6 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Hi, I have added my premiere key and installed some plugins (see attachment). After this day, my Emby Server shut down every night at the same time and I don´t know why. There is nothing happens at this time and except of the premiere key and the installation of the plugins, I have not changed anything on my DietPi or in Emby. In the logs it looks like a normal server shut down. Any idea, how I can solve this issue? Thank you! Regards, Michael embyserver-63805022704.txt embyserver-63805109102.txt embyserver-63805195556.txt
Luke 42078 Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Hi, that's odd. It looks like a normal, graceful shutdown. Do you have anything on the system that could be sending the server process a shutdown signal?
pachi81 6 Posted November 28, 2022 Author Posted November 28, 2022 I have no idea, I still thinking about... I already checked my home automation, but I haven't included Emby yet. Today, I upgraded to the current version and hopefully it stops. The strange thing is, that this started after adding the Premiere Key. I also thought about the plugins, but nothing is active at this time. :-/
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Interesting as something is triggered at 01:25 nightly, but not seeing anything logged making the call. If it still happens maybe Debug logging will show more info.
Luke 42078 Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 The debug log might help, but probably not. If you restart the server manually, or if it restarts automatically to update a plugin, then it will print a normal Info log message about it. So neither of those two happened, so that leaves a crash as a possibility or the server receiving a shutdown signal from the operating system. A crash looks unlikely given the graceful appearance of the shutdown sequences in the log. If it crashes then generally it just abruptly stops. Does your machine go to sleep at that hour by any chance? (which is fine, just asking questions). Or does the user logged into the operating system get logged out?
pachi81 6 Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 Last night, there was the normal shutdown, but after some minutes, there was a restart of Emby. So I checked the system again and I have found the problem! The dietpi-backup runs every night at this time and it seems to shutdown everything. The problem with the backup was, that there was an error during backup, which is the reason for not restarting Emby. During upgrade of Emby, I also fixed the backup error and thats the reason why the Emby Server was started again last night... But I do not really need this daily backup job, so I removed it. Sorry! 1
