davedick 19 Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 I have my Christmas library set to movies and have 2 files. A Christmas Story (1983) -4K.mkv and A Christmas Story - 1080p.mkv (I have a folder for each movie and both files are in the same folder) I've seen if I have two formats that I would have one listing and a drop down to select the format (like audio and subtitle), but for some reason I have two separate listing for this. Is there a setting I need to look at and did I miss something?
GrimReaper 4749 Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Hey up, few ways you can go about that: 1) Put all different files in same folder and follow naming convention for multi-version movies https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming 2) Multi-select and select "Group Versions" in three-dot menu 3) Use community-made Auto-Grouping plugin
davedick 19 Posted November 23, 2022 Author Posted November 23, 2022 The first one, was the one I tried. Where do I go for the 2nd?
pwhodges 2012 Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 The naming requirements are very precise - the start of the video file name before the hyphen must be exactly the same as the folder name - "pretty much the same" won't do. Paul 1

If using the dash method anything following the dash will be what you see in the Emby client app. Edited November 23, 2022 by GrimReaper 1

As shown in the kb and mentioned. Movies A Christmas Story (1983) A Christmas Story (1983) - 1080p.mkv A Christmas Story (1983) - 4K.mkv Otherwise you need to manually group or use the plugin. Paul This was the issue. I went back and noticed that the folder didn't have the year, but the two files did. Added the year to the folder and now I'm seeing the format selection. Thank you 1
