HawkXP71 112 Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 I understand for MKV (and other containers) you can have multiple video and audio streams in a single container. Sometimes when I rip, makemkv names the streams to frankly crap names that are meaningless. Often downloaded media has the same problem. WHen I remove the titles on the streams, then Emby computes a name that "makes sense" Is there anyway to always have the stream names ignored? Or should I go through and clean up my media (non-trivial project). The statistics plugin really shows this as a problem as it lists many movies "quality" as the "name of the movie"
Luke 42079 Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 HI, it should always show both titles so that you can still see the one that makes sense. Where are you seeing otherwise?

Luke 42079 Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 OK I guess that's the one exception but when there are multiple and you use the dropdown box, you do see both together.

Thjis this one is a bit better, because the mkv stream titles have the language as well.. But when I strip out the title names I get the following So even when there are multiple streams, it uses the stream name
HawkXP71 112 Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 it looks like it uses the Language name, followed by the title name. So its still missing the format. I cant find a file with multiple video streams that have the streams named
Happy2Play 9781 Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 What is your "Embedded track title display" setting? Settings-Library, advanced tab prefer embedded (but dependent on specific track titles) generate user friendly Emby does not support multiple video stream files.

Well they are supported in the sense that you can import them into your library and play them, but at this point you can't control which video stream gets played.

The text makes it seem that that would only come into play for the title of the video, not the stream names which is what is being shown

I didnt even know about these options I never clicked "Advanced" from the library page, only from AN INDIVIDUAL library page. And that cures the problem Edited November 22, 2022 by HawkXP71 1
HawkXP71 112 Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 Hopefully the fix will also fix the statistics plugin, Im running it now....
HawkXP71 112 Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 And it does! Can I make a recommendation, this really should be the default option setting

Its possible. Maybe on previous version (started on DSM 6.x and I dont remember which emby version) it wasnt, and it was just kept that way? Either way, its fixed now! 1
