Unlock App

Hi

Where is the option to unlock app for me as I use 2 Windows devices. A PC and Xbox.

 

No unlock app option on top when I click my name. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, signed out and back in, and made sure I'm on the latest version.

 

I can no longer watch TV until I get this sorted. How do I unlock?

You don't need App unlock (which those platforms don't have anyway) but Premiere subscription.

Hi Grim Reaper. No I need to unlock the app. I've had Emby for the last year until you brought in your 75 license change and now I've been told to fix this, I need to unlock the app

Which App, as neither PC or Xbox Theater doesn't have unlocks, Premiere is required. Only certain mobile/Smart TV apps have App unlocks for full playback, but for LiveTV you'll still need Premiere.

What issue?  Are you using your own Emby server or one that someone has given you access to?

It's because Emby is rubbish. There should be an paid unlock for emby theater on windows tied to the windows store, the way its possible to unlock full playback on other devices. Fact is Emby is charging for very limited features that others offer for free, including plex

Then the solution for you is simple. Switch to Plex. It will make you much happier and reduce the level of electronic pollution on these boards.

I used Plex for almost 4 years and a bigger set of cheats and crooks I have never heard of outside of the USA congress or some of the State houses.

I find Emby to be, by far, the best and easiest to use media manager/player on the planet but it is not for everyone so, if you feel that "Emby is rubbish," then you just need to use one of the others.

Don't take criticisms of Emby so personally. It's just a media server application (with premium paid for features), and just like I'm free to use Plex (i'm not super happy with it either), you're free to ignore opinions you disagree with. If you really LOVE Emby, that is honestly great for you. Problem is, some of us are having issues with basic functionality and usability when using it. Something as simple as removing a server from Emby Connect doesn't work. A desktop application is a paid subscription just for basic playback. I'm just voicing my thoughts on this. One would think that criticism and feedback are helpful for companies to improve their applications, but the looks of these forums, they have enough defenders that criticisms aren't really considered. Hopefully, staff here are less dismissive than you and continue to improve the experience for all users.. Finally, its great that Emby works well for you. I guess that should be enough for everyone else.

Hi, I indeed fixed it yes. If you download emby to you android phone (download the one with the white Logo background as there was 2 when I did this)

 

Log in a yourself and the unlock option was there to purchase.
