Option to allow Emby app utilize notch area

Im using android Emby.

at notch/status bar area, emby seems avoiding it in widescreen mode. please create a setting to allow us, to utilize it

Hi, yes what we're doing now is considered best practice, but options to control it are certainly possible.

Is this still a possible option to add? Would love to have my videos take up the full screen width when playing in landscape mode! Currently I think I would have to root my device to force this behaviour..

hello why is this still not fixed yet? isn't player the most important part of this app. please prioritize this.

Hi it’s already there in iOS and will be in the next Android update.

Late to the party here, but it sounds like Emby iOS used to avoid the notch but was then changed to use it -- but no option was added.  Any chance there could be an option for those of us who would prefer to avoid a static black oval in the frame?
