Device Limits per User

Hello,

since the device limit is really hard to track.
For example my brother tested it on every browser if it works etc. Then i had a lot of devices allready in there.

Isnt there a way to limit the device for example to 3 per user and give them the Chance to delete a own device  and then the can add an actual one.

Also when changing mobile phone etc. It is hard to track and sort this stuff out manual as Admin.

Thank you very much

Hi,

yes this i saw. But the device limit would be more then awesome i think. Since the licenses are set to deivce limits. So you dont need to sort out manual a lot of stuff.
or is there any setting? that you maybe can set every 2 weeks delete unused devices etc.?

That is what the system already does, inactive premiere client drop premiere slot after I believe a week.  But this has nothing to do with Devices that show up on your server Devices.

How is the system then working?
i mean special now i test on every app if all works correct etc.
So then all this devices for my 25 license are gone ?

No as I can have 100 browsers and 100 Rokus and have used 0 premiere slots.  It is about devices that are active and require premiere.  Inactive devices will drop the slot after x days and users have no control over that.

What is the premiere slots stuff. What functions you need to use for it? Mainly i want to use it for videos for me friends and family.

Depends on client/features whether you need premiere or not.

So if you don't have premiere on the server does that mean no clients use premier features and server will have no device limits?

Not sure I fully understood what you're asking, if no valid Premiere subscription - number of features would be restricted for client apps, Premiere device limit applies only to number of devices that can utilise those features, there's never a limit on number of devices that can connect to your server alone.

Emby Premiere Feature Matrix

Is there a limit to Emby Premiere?

I'm sorry but the "Premiere Matrix" really doesn't mean anything....if I read it correctly anyone who is playing content of any kind is essentially using a premiere feature?  Owning the app for a platform is even more confusing.  I own the Firestick App and Premiere....does that mean anyone who connects to my server with the Firestick App does not count against my device limit?  Or do they need to purchase the app individually to not count against my device limit?  If either is the case then the simple answer is for me to purchase the app  for all platforms that use my server or have the individuals purchase them....so, what is the REAL answer here??

It surely does, it lists all the features and what are the requirements (or what is included in each tier), per platform.

I suppose you're not, Full Playback is free on some platforms and requires either App unlock (where applicable) or valid Premiere subscription on others.

They all do count, if using any Premiere feature.

If unlocked, they wouldn't count against Premiere limit for playback purposes only.

Read above (and Feature matrix - only certain platforms have provisions for unlocking app).
