Can't access Emby after internet ugprade...

Okay, I finally got an ethernet connection set up, and... I can no longer connect remotely. The IP shown in Emby dashboard doesn't work, the IP found by whatsmyip doesn't work, the port open according to canyouseeme, automatic port mapping is enabled.

Nothing changed aside from plugging in an ethernet cable, and even going back to wifi doesn't work.

Okay, this is weird... My tablet, which had previously stopped working remotely(but I hadn't changed anything with as it was not high priority), is now working remotely while my cell phone is NOT.

Hi, what exactly happens when you try to connect with it?

It tries to connect for a bout a minute, then goes to Select Server screen with the options for my media server(with its local access IP listed), "Add Server," "Sign in with Emby Connect," and "downloads."

No option helps me access the server. Clicking the first two options leads to a "Connection Failure" notice after several seconds(the second after I've entered the server IP, of course).

Hi, did you doing a new server connection manually by clicking add server and then entering the server address directly into the app?

Yes, that's the first thing I tried.

Are you sure you entered the correct address? where did you get it from?

I've used the IP listed in the Emby dashboard, the IP I get from whatsmyip, and the one listed in Windows settings.

Is the same device able to connect over the local network?

Yes - it connects just fine locally.

Have you setup ssl on your emby server?

What phone is it? What Emby app are you using on it?

What version of the Emby app do you have? What version of android does this run?

Are you sure your VPN is not interfering here?

Does the dashboard show the same IP address as canyousee.org and port open?

I have split tunneling on for the VPN so Emby bypasses it. Nonetheless, I have tested without the VPN and get the same results.

Emby Dashboard does display a different IP than canyouseeme due to the split tunneling, but that IP does not work either.

If you enter your true public address on say yougetsignal.com with your Emby port it shows open?  But sounds like server/apps are not seeing your true address.

This did it. Whether I had the VPN on or off I got a different IP there than I did on canyousee, whatsmyip, OR the Emby Dashboard when in the same configuration. I entered the IP that came up on yougetsignal with the VPN off, and now have remote access. So the problem was that I've got a bunch of resources giving conflicting IP info.

It is also still working on the local network.

The matter has already been sorted.
