Not sure if this is a Server/Roku/ffmpeg issue. But it ain't right!

Setup
Windows 10 Home Version 22H2
Emby 4.7.9.0
Remote User - Roku Emby ver 4.0.69

HDHomeRun Tuner
Connect Quatro HDHR5-4US
Firmware 20221031

Recording - Bold and the Beautiful created using Emby and HDHomeRun Tuner

Playback was attempted at 17:37 multiple times with errors

After several tries, eventually playback was possible.

At around 18:45 I noticed an ffmpeg process running and utilizing about 3% CPU time.
Looked in the transcode_temp folder and found 27D31B was still growing and files were actively being added.
Viewed one of the .ts files using VLC and recognized it as Bold and the Beautiful.
When there was no activity on Emby, the files continued to be added and CPU usage was active at around 3-7%
Watched the .ts files being created very slowly.
At around 19:40 the files stopped being added.  Almost 2 hours after starting.
Ffmpeg process has since stopped, files are no longer being created, but the temp fold and files remain.
No active users streaming this program.

Hope this helps.

Hi, are you able to try the Emby Roku beta app to see if that helps?

No need.  The update was released by Roku this morning.  @Scott D please try updating your Roku devices to get the latest version and see if that helps.

I will have everyone check for updates and manually update if necessary.  What ver # should they be looking for in the process?

I'll keep an eye on the temp folder as it is still part of my daily process.  I will report back after a few days of running.

Thanks

Same issue this morning.  Unfortunately, time is a bit limited this morning.  Clients appear to have updated to 4.0.70, so not sure if there is an additional change coming, but with 4.0.70 I had folders with files for 3 different sessions.

Going to clear things today and wait another day or two to see if there is a further update and if the problem continues.  Will be able to provide more detail at a future date when time permits.

Well, shoot, that's not the proper version.  We'll look into it.  Thanks.

Update -

Just checked on things today and there is great improvement.  Most users are up to .71 and the transcode folder seems to be getting cleared up.  Hopefully, this issue is something that can be listed as solved.

The old habit of restarting Emby will be tough to kick, so will use it as a reminder to keep an eye on the folder.

Will report back if it reoccurs.

Thank you for your patience and perseverance on this one.

May have spoken a little too early.  This morning I had over 8 gig of files remaining and no one logged in, and no activity going on.

Trying a few different options.  I have noticed (maybe coincidence) that when HW transcoding is disabled, files seem to remain.

I'll report back after a little further investigation.

Any known issues with older equipment?  I am running a box that is getting a little long in the tooth, and perhaps it is time for an update.  It is an i3-4130 with HD 4400 integrated GPU.  With only a few users, it never seems to have a problem in keeping up, but if it is no longer being written for, would save a bunch of investigation.

At this point we believe the issues are isolated to bailing out of live tv playback before it has completed starting. That's what we're currently looking into.
