Delete All Thumbs

What would be the best way of going about deleting all thumbs(not backdrops, but thumbs)?

Hi, there isn't a bulk way but if you have images saved in media folders then you could potentially do it via the file system.

I did a find for something like thumb.jpg to see if I could maybe bulk delete from the metadata folder. Would the thumbs have an particular names within the metadata folder?

This will be difficult for episode thumbs as they are poster.ext in /metadata/library/xx/xxxxxxxxxxxxx folder.

But movies will be landscape.ext.

So poster.ext for tv is the same name for backdrops for tv shows?

No episode poster is the episode image, backdrops are fanart.ext.  But Posters are Primary images for Movie/Show and other content type.  So blanket deleting posters will be problematic.

 

So what exactly are you trying to delete?

I actually don't want to delete episode thumbs. I just want to use backdrops for tv shows and movies instead of thumbs. like the episodes themselves are fine to have thumbs.

Then "landscape" would be your search as that is what populates the Thumb placeholder.

May want to ensure you have disabled that image type per library Image Fetcher Fetchers Settings if you have image fetching enabled.
