I wish the app allowed background playback

I wish the app allowed playback on the Shield home screen and when navigating the menus on the app. Is this something in consideration?

Hi.  Yes, it is under consideration but that is very unusual behavior these days.  People are accustomed to backing out of something to stop it.  None of the modern remotes even have stop buttons.

Yeah I realize this is old "Kodi" behavior but there have been lots of times I wanted to check some actor info etc but didn't necessarily want to stop playback. I would love to see special information screens like that be available without having to stop playback.

Well, traveling "forward" instead of back is probably more likely to be implemented.  You can already bring up the cast during playback.  It is possible we could allow seeing more information about a person without having to stop too.
