ASS Subtitles - burnt-in with styles not working

Hi,

no matter which options I choose, I can't get ASS subtitles to work properly; within an MKV I can't get them to work with their proper fonts when "extraction on the fly" is selected (obviously), when "on the fly" is unchecked I get "no compatible stream". Using external subtitles (extracted from MKV and named accordingly) does work, yet again without the fonts (again, obviously).

The logs always - in any case - say "SubtitleBurnIn >> False False".

Am I missing something? Is "subtitle burn-in" (if you will) broken?

My machine has both an Intel CoffeeLake iGPU as well as an NVIDIA card; both HW transcoding options are working (when subtitles are off).
