Alda76 8 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) Hi, I looked through the posts here about similar threads but i am still stuck. i hope you can help me out. So i have a synology, which has emby running from the package center. It's a lil difficult keeping that version up to date, so i tried to install emby via docker I found this gr8 tutorial: https://mariushosting.com/how-to-install-emby-on-your-synology-nas/ which allows me to add emby via the task manager. Emby appears to have been installed correctly. The package in Docker has started but when i try to reach the 2nd emby server it doesn't want to connect. I then stopped emby and changed the port numbers. I setup the port forwarding in my router and restarted emby. Still getting the error that it cannot reach emby. Not sure what i can do next. i don't see error in the logfile. Plz help me Edited November 7, 2022 by Alda76
Luke 42077 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Hi, is the docker container in bridge or host networking mode? You'll have a much easier time in host mode.
Alda76 8 Posted November 8, 2022 Author Posted November 8, 2022 (edited) Ah yes it was in bridge mode. i don't see the option to change it? In Edit mode the network tab is not there Edited November 8, 2022 by Alda76

Q-Droid 989 Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I don't see a log file. Can you restart the Emby container and attach the embyserver log? I suspect the host:container port mappings.
Alda76 8 Posted November 30, 2022 Author Posted November 30, 2022 Here is my logfile, tysm for taking the time to help me! emby (2).csv
Q-Droid 989 Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 You have a port mismatch. The Emby server is listening on the default ports within the container but you've specified 8098:8098. The quick and easy fix would be to edit the system.xml file and restart the Emby container. The file is in /config/config within the container or /volume1/docker/emby/config on the host if you followed the guide linked in your OP. 1. Change: <HttpServerPortNumber>8098</HttpServerPortNumber> <HttpsPortNumber>8922</HttpsPortNumber> Or: 2. Edit (recreate?) your container mapping: Local Port Container Port 8098 8096 8922 8920 The first method (system.xml) will make the Emby Dashboard settings match the container port settings. The second will show different ports between the Emby server and the container actual. Or you could do a dance starting with the default container port mapping, as #2 above. Change the ports (local) within Emby Network Settings. Then redo the container to match (8098:8098). 1
