Hi,

 

How to use the remote of my Sony Android TV to use the search button in emby? I don't want to use a microphone... this must be possible?

Hi.  The button on your remote for search is going to bring up the Google voice search.  Results will include things from Emby but also everything else on your device.

When in the emby app, to search just within Emby, just navigate to the search icon (magnifying glass) and click it.

Oh sorry that is what I meant, the magnifying glass in emby...if I click it I want to use the remote as a (keyboard) to type letters of what I want to search... and never use the microphone...

Press right once.

Correct.   That will land you on the search field where you can use the on-screen keyboard to type.

does not work at first... might be a google settings I have blocked or change... I uninstalled emby app, re-install and now it works perfect thanks!

Run Time filter in ascending and descending order

And a 'party mode'' so friends could listen synchronously the same movie... and if any of the them press pause... it pauses for everyone to keep everyone sync that would be great!

OK I see what you mean, in the ATV app sorting by 'Runtime' only works one way.

Have you tried side-loading the standard Android app? It's designed to work on TVs and it definitely works both ways there.

No I have not... why would Emby team still work on the emby for android tv if the android app works? Must have something better for TV in the TV app?

No need to uninstall. They will happily run side-by-side on the same device.

Worked, switching from users is not that easy compares to the tv app... but looks a lot like the tv app... will keep it thanks

just noticed something, the Collections and Series views are the same as the TV app... Rectangular "portrait'' poster view... but in the Movies view they looks ugly and small... like a rectangular ''portrait'' shrink into a ''landscape'' view... How can I get the same view as the TV app and as the Series-Collections view?

in the series folders it's perfect but in the movies folder... looks like it tries to show backdrop? any way to force it to use the primary?

Try clicking the 3 dot menu button at the top of the list. You might have changed a display option there.

the view is set to Primary so it should be fine...

Sounds like you have some movies that don't have 2:3 aspect ratio posters. Try adding posters to those and then the app will adjust. 

It looks at the images you have and decides on the ideal display aspect ratio based on those.
