Automatically grouping like versions

Is there a way for emby to automatically group like versions without myself have to go in and do it manually? Plex groups like versions automatically under 1title, is there a way in settings or a plug in for emby to do the same?

You can either:

1) Put all different files in same folder and follow naming convention for multi-version movies

2) Multi-select and select "Group Versions" in three-dot menu 

3) Use community-made Auto-Grouping plugin

What do you mean by like versions? Are you referring to the same movie with an Extended Cut? If so, just name it as the same movie but add, - Extended Cut at the the end of the filename. Or, use brackets. [Extended Cut].

Which plug-in is it? And it will group like versions automatically? Like I have a 1080p version and 4k version for some films, plex automatically groups them, this plug in will do that for me?

Are your files in the same folder? They should already group if they are.

Note the absolute requirement for the file name to start with the complete folder name.

I’m just making sure that this plug in can do what I’m looking for it to do. There many things emby does I like that plex cant, like IPTV, and it’s more user friendly and no buffer issues. Just annoying that emby can’t automatically group 2 files with basically same name.

The plugin will group every item with the same providerid no matter location or naming.
