Scott D 69 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 5:23 pm 11/4 Brad starts playing KPNX on Roku device 6:00 pm 11/4 Brad stops playing KPNX on Roku device 7:52 am 11/5 During my daily checkin and reboot to clear temp files, I find 2.4 gig temp file. Checked tuner status and find KPNX still open. Opened temp file in VLC and see that it started at 5:23 pm (based on time/temp display in video) Duration of video is in excess of 14 hours. See attached log files. Windows 10 Home ver 22H2 Emby 4.7.8.0 HDHomeRun HDHR5-4US FW: 20221031 Roku 4.0.69 embyserver-63803203200.txt ffmpeg-transcode-6b86c5e7-ed1c-4a03-b60a-fcfc36ccf833_1.txt 1
Scott D 69 Posted November 5, 2022 Author Posted November 5, 2022 CORRECTION - Temp file was in excess of 56 gig once the stream was closed. 1
Scott D 69 Posted November 12, 2022 Author Posted November 12, 2022 Just checking to see if the attached log files provided any information to make this stop happening. This happens on a fairly regular basis, and as I have stated in other posts, the only way to correct the situation is to do a RESTART of Emby. If this cannot be tracked down, would it be possible to simply add a RESTART Emby as a Scheduled Task that can automate the process on a daily basis? This option might correct many of the transcode_temp folder filling up issues as well. 1
Luke 42085 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Hi, yes I think I found something concrete here, so stay tuned.
ebr 16192 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 @Scott D I'm going to add you to the Roku beta thread. Please install the beta version of the app and tell me if you see a difference in behavior. Thanks.

But, most of the users I have online are older family members that technologically could barely pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel. It is hard enough to walk them through the issues experienced. Since the Beta channel seems to be limited to a set number, I think it would be best (for you) to include someone that would provide more feedback. It is my hope and desire that the information I provide (logs, examples, etc.) does not fall on deaf ears and generate the "auto-reply" of "please try the next version", "please provide log files" or my ever favorite "we're looking into it". I agree with another poster that has asked that the implementation of new features be put on hold and efforts focused on creating some stability. The Live TV, while working, is in desperate need of some TLC and fine tuning. Thank you again for the opportunity to join the Beta channel. I look forward to the "next update".

There is really absolutely nothing technical about the beta. It is just a different version of the app that will install on your device. The link in the first post of the PM I added you to will even automatically add the channel for them. Then they can just choose that tile (with "Beta" on it) to start the app.
