Paddy9999 0 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Hi, i am experiencing the same issue on my windows 10 server after switching from my emby well running installation on a QNAP NAS. I am using the latest stabel version 4.7.8.0. So, the fix is not release for 4.7 yet?
Luke 42085 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Hi there @Paddy9999 please attach the emby server log from when the problem was experienced. Thanks !
Paddy9999 0 Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 Hi, attached please find my the serverlog Even after stopping the media scan the memory cosumption is recovering. embyserver.txt
Luke 42085 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 OK yes this is the same as that other topic. Sorry that I moved yours to a separate one, it's just more often than not it's not actually the same thing. The issue still exists in 4.7 and the fix is in 4.8 if you need immediate relief. It's more of a revamp of photo scanning so it's not something we can easily backport to 4.7, so that's why it hasn't been included in a 4.7 maintenance release. You can try the beta channel in the meantime. Hopefully we'll be able to release 4.8 within the next month.
Paddy9999 0 Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 Thanks for the quick analysis. I think i can wait till the release of 4.8. Just out of curiosity, why is this happening on the windows machine but not on the Qnap?
Luke 42085 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Maybe you haven't imported the same photos? Beyond that I'm not sure. It's a third party photo scanning library that is getting stuck in a loop with certain photo files. From what I've seen it doesn't appear to vary across platforms and depends more so on the file that it's scanning.
