help using imdb lists

i have a folder with all these episodes on this imdb page. how can i use the imdb "https://www.imdb.com/list/ls070936949/"for emby to recognize the episodes?

Currently Emby does not support Lists from anywhere.

Not sure how IMDB lists work but no data from them is free.

IMDB loves their data, but honestly have no idea how lists work but we do not get anything from IMDB directly.

I didnt know that. Is that a charge for emby devs or just for the users? Seems excessive but who knows.

 

So basically emby does not automatically scare imdb and if i want to use imdb i have to manually specify the imdb id?

If you specify the imdb id, that doesn't get queried at IMDB - but it can be used as a key by the other providers (and I have had a case where that found me a series which I couldn't find on them by manual searching).

I can use imdb automaticely for find jacket movies ? Because all my movies not find jacket only 20 movies as good

Is there any other site I can use for metadata grabbing on shows aside from TVDB? I have an old Nicktoons show that did two eleven minute segments that were one whole episode. ( This is how most old cartoons are structured.) The TVDB order is based on each eleven minute segment rather than the combined episode. I've made a TVDB account to create the proper list but it doesn't save any changes I make. This issue is only on TVDB though, because on both IMDB and Google, the episodes are structured with each eleven minute segment combined.

Try naming your media exactly as described in the guide.  This will help getting episodes and media identified and can fill in the details better.  I have never tried getting short animation episodes to identify, but 1/2 hour and longer TV episodes seem to work fine, if you name the media correctly.

If the item is in TVDB - open it and look to see how the episodes are structured.   You may find there is an 'absolute' way of numbering them - and assuming you name your files the same, it will pick that up instead - just specify this by changing the 'File order' in the series/show metadata and Refresh.

If your files do not match any of the providers, then you may need to do it manually which is a lot of work for the reward..

Yeah, I've done that. I've noticed with most animated shows, at least on TVDB, It will only use the eleven minute segments regardless of order, rather than combining the episode. On the specific show I have, the DVD order didn't exist, and the Aired and Absolute orders only used the segments. However, I have been able to create a DVD order on TVDB that lists the episodes properly. It's really just a problem with how TVDB structures these types of shows.

On you DVD are they ordered ep 1 and ep 2 ?

If that's the case the name the files

Showname S01E01-E02.mkv

But I have sometimes seen them like this, ep 1 and ep 7 in 1 file.

And that's really annoying.

A lot of cartoons like Spongebob, Invader Zim, Dexter's Lab, etc, were made to be two episodes in a half hour block. These two episodes are really one single episode that they air the two segments of back to back. On DVDs they combine these two episode segments into a single episode, however most of the time, TVDB will just list them by each segment rather than the combined episode. And that goes for all orders too. Regardless of choosing to use the DVD or Aired or Absolute, most of the time they all list these episodes as each segment. Luckily with the show I was trying to get working, the DVD order was empty, allowing me to reorder the episodes properly. I suppose it's debatable whether it should be listed by each segment or by each episode combined, but for me to list each segment, I'd have to go into each episode and manually cut it in half, so this was a decent workaround.

Anyway to add TVDB's "Joined Order" or "Streaming Order" (noted by TVDB as 'Usable as "Alternate Order" in API-connected systems.').

These lists seem to solve the issue of the split segments vs aired episodes.
