ngmdat 6 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) hi Guys, After upgrading to Emby Server 4.7.8.0, in next day, I found my meta-data has be crushed. For example, the TV Show "The Code (2014)" (Season 2 2016 | 6 Episodes) was changed to "The Code (2019)" which I have no any content of. I think we have to stop upgrading until this issue was fixed. Luke 42078 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Hi there, how are your files named and organized?
ngmdat 6 Posted October 25, 2022 Author Posted October 25, 2022 @Luke thanks for your response, contents was naming as following images. The season 1 - 2014: The Season 2 - 2016
Luke 42078 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 OK, if you have the server log from when this happened, then that would help us track down why this occurred. If not then I would try using the Identify feature on the series and that should help get you squared away.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 With that structure i can see misidentification happening easily as you are working with as series called "The Code" with seasons separated by structure. Since there are multiple shows named "The Code" you may be required to name it "The Code (2014)". I would expect issues like this for all same named shows. But what is your library metadata provider order? Do you have "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" enabled in library settings? 1
ngmdat 6 Posted October 25, 2022 Author Posted October 25, 2022 @Happy2Play thanks for your comment. When I add new contents for TV "The Code (2014)" at 2022/08/03, everything go on at fine until upgrading to Emby 4.7.8.0. the setting as your question for was following images.
Luke 42078 Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 This might be improved in the 4.8 beta channel (or might not), but generally speaking I think you're asking for trouble with this folder structure. You can keep your year parent folders, but at least add the series year - The Code (2016)
ngmdat 6 Posted November 2, 2022 Author Posted November 2, 2022 @Luke thanks for your support. I hope that the next release, this feature will be improved.
Luke 42078 Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 What is there to improve though? Before it was probably getting the series year from the parent folder, but this was happening by accident and causes problems in other cases. I think this is the difference.
