JCoryShe 3 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 What does everyone use to backup there content? I want an exact copy on another drive that I can compair to the original without using multiple programs.
Locutus64 125 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I run Arch or a Arch based distro and I have two 3tb and two 8Tb external drives. one of the 8tb and one of the 3tb are my main use drives these are synced every couple of days to the other two drives that are called Master Backup and Master Backup 2 using FreeFileSync.
MBSki 1114 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I use StableBit DrivePool which allows me to enable file duplication. File duplication adds a second copy of every file on a different hard drive. I also created a 2nd Backup pool. About every month I do a full backup to my backup pool. At more than 60 TB it requires multiple hard drives and takes awhile which is why I only do it every month. I also put the backup drives in a fireproof safe when the backup is complete.
Spaceboy 2573 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 stuff that would be difficult to get hold of again is synced to gdrive once every other week (about 100Tb). the rest i'd just "obtain" again

First and foremost because of privacy. Second these services bounce the data from server to server which is never good.
