Emby preventing System sleeping, no activity shown in Dashboard

Hi all, my Emby install is preventing my computer from entering Standy mode, however in Dashboard i see no active users or tasks. I can resolve this issue myself by Restarting the emby server (tray icon in windows10), however thats not always practical as i need to turn on a computer to connect to my Emby server to do so.

This usually happens after a few hours of activity, and the server will remain on until i either manually shut it down or restart emby. Running "powercfg /requests" in CMD i see emby.. Restart the Emby Server (tray icon), then it goes away and the system will sleep as intended.

Thanks in advance for any help here.

Stiff,

Since you mention standby, I assume you are using the settings in your server power setting options.  These are usually turned on for notebook computers.  I use a desktop without any sleep or standby settings and I do not see this issue.  Every activity seems to show up correctly.  Of course, trying to prove that something does not appear is rather tricky.  I would have to run some tests.

Based on how I never see this, it makes sense that your issue might involve your Win 10 power / sleep settings.  If you turn those off, it might fix the problem.

Hi, this log only covers one minute of time. Can you please provide the log file from the time when you expected it to go to sleep, but it didn't?

Yes but you yourself are an active user just by opening it, so maybe that is your issue.

its a desktop pc, but 22hours of the day no one uses it, hence why it needs to go to sleep. it works fine most of the time, just randomly it wont sleep. ill add some more info to make this a bit clearer in the coming update.

Hi, yes, please attach the emby server log from when you expected it to sleep, but it did not. Thanks.

Windows has a setting for off peak hours.  I think the sleep and power rules might change off peak hours.  I have not bothered to look that one up.  Maybe the time out is changing because you have peak hours set.  Usually this ties in with when Windows Security app can run.  On a desktop that runs a server, I just turn off the monitors.
