QAQrz 6 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Does it support external PGS (.sup) subtitles? If not, are there any plans to support it?
Luke 42077 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 HI, not currently, but we can look at adding this. Thanks. 1
Azzazekon 2 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 (edited) I know this thread is a bit old, but I came across it while searching for some info on external subtitle support. I'm glad to see that you're open to the idea of adding support for .sup subtitles in the future. It's always great to have developers who are responsive to user feedback and willing to improve their product. [redacted] Anyway, thanks again for considering external subtitle support. It's great to see developers who are willing to listen to their users and make improvements. Edited March 23, 2023 by GrimReaper Spam content/link removed 2

I've just updated to 4.9.1.23 and while the external sup subtitles are selectable (they were also selectable before 4.9.1.23) they are not being displayed. I've tried the web browser player, the Emby for Android app with no transcoding and the latest beta version of Emby for Android TV with no transcoding. Attached are debug logs from when I try to play a content with sup subs on my Android phone embyserver.txt Edited August 30, 2025 by ItayT

AAA.mks contains 3 Chinese subtitles and Simplified Chinese could be set as default. Instead if i use 3 sup files. I need rename all 3 with zh-** suffix and one with default suffix.

Doable, but significantly more complex.

Thanks, I can remux the sup anyway, it only takes mins at most, the most critical issue is still this, which I dont know how to fix in any Android/Android TV app Edited October 29, 2025 by yzxvw 1
