Use "Continue watching",with external player!

Hi!

I uses Nvidia Shield TV box and a Synology nas.

If I choose a external movieplayer in the Emby  Android Tv app, ex. VLC...is there any way to make it compatible with the function "continue watching"in the Emby app ?

If I use the built in player in Emby,I can turn a movie off in the middle and continue where I left.

Is this function only available when I use the original Emby player ?

 

(I know VLC and Kodi has this function,but the downside is that it can only continue playing on the same unit!)

I think it's cause Emby knows it's being played but has no information of the position, when I used Nova Player for AV1 playback and check Emby Dashboard playback goes to 13seconds then back to 0. It can even be stuck doing this for some time after watching has finished.

yeah this is just one of the downsides of using an external player

Yes,it is! I just wanted to increase the speech level/volume witch is mutch better in Kodi and VLC on my equipment! Kodi has a spec.setting and VLC an EQ.( a problem I´m not alone to have)
